We do not offer payment plans because we've found that they usually have a higher interest rate than most credit cards and those that offer low or no interest require applicants to have extremely good credit. We figure if someone already has excellent credit, they probably have a low or no interest credit card. So, in most cases, it makes more sense to buy using a credit card you already have. This also eliminates a lengthy application process.

How do I buy a puppy?

Puppies are only sold in the store because we firmly believe that you really must see a puppy in person to know if it’s the right fit. We do, however, accept payment via telephone if a customer would like a particular puppy held for him/her. We normally required a non-refundable deposit of $400 to do this. Since this payment is non-refundable, be sure you are serious before placing the puppy on hold. We also can place special orders for a particular breed and for this we require half of the price of the puppy to be paid up front. The reason for this is because we unfortunately have had customers in the past that have special ordered a puppy for the sole purpose of just seeing what that breed looks like as a puppy.

We accept the following forms of payment: Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Debit Card, and Cash. No personal checks.

Why do you get your puppies at 9 or 10 weeks old?

State Law

By Maine State Law pet stores and breeders we cannot sell puppies less than 8 weeks old.

Not Fully Weaned

Many times puppies less than 9 weeks old are not fully weaned from their mothers which means they would be deprived of essential nutrients that only mothers’ milk can provide. This is especially true for smaller breeds.

More Inoculations=Stronger

We like them to have more inoculations before they are sold so that they are less able to get certain diseases. With more inoculations they are stronger. For this reason we get the smallest breeds at 10 weeks.
